RAM

Internal ram upgrade socket can take either a 32K or a 128K chip.

  • 32Kx8 parallel SRAM, 5v, low power, DIP-28
  • 128Kx8 parallel SRAM, 5v, low power, DIP-32
Hitachi HM628128LP
ISSI IS62C1024L
Alliance AS6C1008

Chips that would work with a simple SOIC-DIP or TSOP-DIP adapter pcb:

Cypress CY62128E

If you want to get real crazy, this probably works, although may not fit

Expansion Card

Toshiba Memory Card 32K, 64K, or 128K RAM card
32K, 64K, 128K, or 256K ROM card

Connector that fits the Expansion port:

38 pins, single row, 1.27mm spacing
Card main body 2.5mm thick x 53mm wide not including polarity ridge on one side
File:JC20-B38S-F1.pdf JC20-B38S datasheet
JAE JC20-B38S-F1-A1 0.29mm-0.45mm pcb, center, https://www.asapaog.com/rfq/japan-aviation-electronics/jc20-b38s-f1-a1/
JAE JC20-B38S-F2-A1 0.5mm pcb, offset
JAE JC20-B38S-F3-A1 0.2mm pcb, offset

0.4mm pcbs would fit the F1 version of the connector.
The pcb fits in the center of the thickness on the F1 connector, which leaves 1mm of height for components on both top & bottom of the pcb.
TSOP parts are 1mm tall and should fit with no special tricks.
SOIC parts could be mounted upside down in a hole.
